講 題:Representation theories of $p$-adic groups and Hecke algebras

摘 要:The representation theory of $p$-adic groups has long played a central role in
representation theory and number theory, owing to its deep connections with representations of
local Galois groups via the local Langlands correspondence. In this area, Hecke algebras have
served as a powerful tool, providing a natural framework to translate many deep properties and
questions about representations of p-adic groups into problems concerning Hecke algebras. This
translation is often advantageous, as simple modules over a Hecke algebra are finite-dimensional
and generally well studied and understood, whereas irreducible representations of a $p$-adic
group are usually infinite-dimensional. In this talk, I will describe how representations of $p$-
adic groups can be related to those of Hecke algebras, ranging from classical results to some very
recent developments in this area.
