講  題：Mass Redistribution and Its Applications to the Ground States of Spin-1 Bose-Einstein Condensates

摘  要：A spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate is a three-coupled system, modeled by a variational integral with two constraints. In studying some special phenomena of the ground states shown by numerical simulations, we found a simple principle behind their validity. In words, it says a redistribution of the masses between different components of the system will reduce the kinetic energy. I will first introduce this finding, and then give a further result of applying it to justify a bifurcation phenomenon regarding the vanishing of a specific component of ground states.
