Title: A brief introduction to inverse problems
Abstract: In this report, we will first give some examples of inverse
problems. Then we will introduce the problem of determining the shape
of a hill from travel time, which was originally formulated and solved
by Abel in 1826. Further properties of this problem will also be
investigated.
