摘 要：
 The symmetric groups have classical connections with combinatorics and algebraic geometry (known as Schubert calculus). In this lecture, I will describe some algebraic structures of the centers of the group algebras of symmetric groups and its more recent connection to algebraic geometry (cohomology rings of Hilbert schemes of points on the affine plane). The symmetric group side of the story can be q-deformed to Hecke algebras, and this generalization reveals some remarkable integrality/positivity and calls for a geometric interpretation.
