New Possibilities of Biomedical Optics: Shedding Light through Turbid Medium

Abstract:
The phenomenon of Optical Phase Conjugation (OPC) is simulated using the pseudospectral time-domain (PSTD) technique. Based upon Maxwell’s equations, the PSTD simulation yields accurate information of the electromagnetic field. Simulation results indicate that a phase conjugate mirror can effectively reverse multiply scattered light through macroscopic random medium that can lead to various innovative applications.
