Intel Latest Technology on Petaflop Supercomputer

Abstract:
HPC is an important market segment to Intel and as of the November 2008 list, 379 of the top500 systems in the world use Intel processors. In addition to processors, Intel provides other important hardware and software technologies to our system vendors and end users including solid state disks, network adapters, compilers, performance libraries, and correctness tools, and performance monitoring tools. This talk will give an overview of these technologies including the recently introduced Xeon 5500 series of processors which have achieved the highest performance improvements for real HPC applications that Intel has ever seen.
