Light Focusing in Near-Field Zone Plate Lens with Sub-Diffraction-Limited Resolution

Abstract:
The light transmitting properties through the near-field zone plate structures are studied by the three dimensional finite-difference time-domain method. The physics of light focusing with sub-diffraction-limited resolution are discussed. The designed structures can be fabricated by the standard semiconductor procedures and measured by the lithography method or near field scanning optical microscopy.
