Required Courses 1. Real analysis (I) and (II): 3 credits each for two semesters

or Algebra (I) and (II): 3 credits each for two semesters

2. The other courses (having the course number of 221 Uxxxx) selected from the followings:

Partial differential equations (I), Partial differential equations (II), Differential geometry (I), Differential geometry (II), Probability theory (I), Probability theory (II), Graph theory (I), Graph theory (II), Combinatorics (I), Combinatorics (II)

The total number of credits should be at least 12.
Colloquium Colloquium (I) and (II): 2 credits each for two semesters
Additional Regulations ※the Research Training course:

1. This course has to be taken every semester unless the thesis oral defense is passed before the course drop-add deadline for the semester.

2. Advisor application form is required within the first academic year.

Master program in Institute of Applied Mathematical Sciences

Required Courses Applied Mathematics Group: The total number of credits should be at least 12.

1. Introductory courses:

(1) Applied Analysis (I) or Real analysis (I):Required

(2) Numerical linear algebra:Required

2. Basic Course:(Select two subjects, at least three credits for each subject)

(1) Equations of Mathematical Physics (I), Image Processing, Mathematical Modeling

(2) Numerical Partial Differential Equations, Introduction to Scientific Computing, Numerical Optimization

(3) Methods of Applied Mathematics, Partial Differential Equations (I), Equations of Mathematical Physics (II)

Mathematical Statistics Group: The total number of credits should be at least 15.

1. Advanced Statistical Inference (I) , (II)

2. Regression Analysis

3. Multivariate Statistical Analysis

4. Select one subjects from the followings:

(1) Probability theory (I)

(2) Probability theory (II), Stochastic Calculus, or Stochastic Process

(3) Real analysis (I)

Qualifying Examination Typically Qualifying Examination: (within two years.)

1. Real analysis (Required)

2. One subject selected from the followings:

(1) Partial Differential Equations

(2) Algebra

(3) Geometry and Topological

(4) Probability theory

(5) Discrete mathematics

(6) Numerical method

(7) Statistics

Professional Qualifying Examination: (within three years.)

Professional qualifying examination should be applied before one month. The 3~5 oral committee members are organied by the advisor.
