2004 NCTS Workshop in Algebraic Geometry 22 June - 9 July, 2004 |
Time : 22 June
- 9 July, 2004 (3 weeks). The current plan is to have school in the first and
third weeks and the
conference
in the second week.
Location : NCTS,
located in National
Tsing-Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. Hsinchu is about one hour by bus
from
Taipei,

Airport pickup: We will arrange taxis/limousines
between TPE airport and NCTS or Berkeley
Business Hotel. It is
therefore important to give us your arrival/departure times and flight
numbers
by e-mail at Karen
Yu as soon as they are available.

when
they are ready.
Visa: Most
visitors could get landing visa
or visa
exemption for 30 days. For general information,
see visa-info. Speakers who hold
the People's Republic of China passport are requested to send their
personal
data (including tel number, fax number, mailing address, e-
mail address and research field etc.) to secretary
Karen Yu by email at karen@math.cts.nthu.edu.tw before
March 15, 2004. It normally takes around three months
to process the
applications of Taiwanese entrance visa for applicants from the Mainland
China.
Weather: Weather at the time in Taiwan is
usually humid and hot; air conditioners are provided in all
indoor
locations. For more information about weather in Taiwan, visit
Central Weather Bureau.
Offices: (Shared) offices will be provided to
all invited speakers, with computers (dual-)booting
(Linux and) Windows
XP(/98).
Tourism: The link to Tourism Bureau contains maps, travel tips,
attractions, etc... . Ta-hsueh-shan
is
within 3.5 hours of drive.
