Statistics and Risk Management	統計遺傳

This course consists of three modules. The first module introduces the idea of risk management and its statistical perspectives. It starts with the background and history of risk management. Various categories of risks and their relationships with statistical models are discussed. Some applications in the financial and banking industries are also covered. The second module discusses various aspects of simulation techniques and their connections with time series modeling in risk management. In particular, examples on various simulation techniques in option pricing are given. Some current issues about stochastic volatility and heterogeneous returns are discussed. The third module covers current aspects of credit risk management. It introduces a structural model approach to model credit migration. Examples and simulated studies are illustrated. This course aims at providing a synopsis of modern aspects of risk management with emphasis in financial applications. It is intended for people from statistics, economics, and financial fields. Practitioners and students alike will find something useful in this course. 授課地點：新數學館101教室	生物的許多重要性狀，如人類的高血壓、糖尿病，作物的株高、成熟性及產量，老鼠的體脂肪百分比、體重，牛的乳產量，雞的蛋產量等，因呈現連續性的變異，故稱之為數量性狀(quantitative traits)。這些數量性狀一般相信是由許多個基因所控制，又易受環境的影響，所以相對於孟德爾在豌豆實驗中所研究的質性狀(qualitative traits)，數量性狀的遺傳結構要比質性狀複雜許多。這些控制數量性狀的基因稱為數量性狀基因座(quantitative trait loci; QTL)。由於生物的許多重要性狀皆為數量性狀，故如果能夠了解控制這些QTL，進而操控之，自然能夠改良及增加這些性狀的質與量，造福人類。因此，對於QTL的研究，一直是動植物育種及與生物有關之科學上的重要課題。近幾年來，由於分子生物技術的快速發展，任何物種的染色體經處理後可以產生大量的分子遺傳標識（molecular genetic marker）。這些分子遺傳標識的出現就如同染色體可被標上記號一般，提供人類進一步去了解有關QTL的精確訊息的基礎。利用分子遺傳標識資料來估計QTL的數目、在染色體上的位置、作用的大小及一些相關的遺傳性質的研究，泛稱QTL mapping(數量性狀基因座定位)。本研習會將介紹目前常用的一些QTL mapping的統計方法。 授課地點：浦大邦講堂
