Markov Chain Monte Carlo Method Applied
to cDNA Microarray Analysis
摘要
| | Abstract:
Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method is a simulation method to evaluate the posterior distribution of the unknown parameters in a Bayesian analysis. It is extremely useful in practice because it circumvents the difficult task of evaluating multi-dimensional integrals needed in the Bayeisan analysis. Now the MCMC method is used extensively in analyzing complex dynamic models with hierarchical structures.
In this talk, we will first give a tutorial on the MCMC method. Then we will apply it to two problems: one is the one-way variance component model and the other is a hierarchical model incorporating several levels of variation used by Tseng et al. in a cDNA microarray analysis (Nucleic Acids Research, 2001, P. 2549-2557).
