摘要

Wavelets and wavelet techniques have recently generated much interest,both in applied areas as well as in theoretical mathematics. Wavelet theory provides a unified framework for a number of techniques which had been developed independently for many different fields, ranging from pure mathematics to quantum physics, electrical engineering as well as various image and signal processing applications. In this talk, I will compare wavelet transforms with Fourier transforms and state their properties. Various scaling function interpolations will be introduced. I will also mention some interesting applications such as numerical solutions of partial differential equations and image processing.
